Finally!

Finally finished my first real ''assignment'' outside of school.
I made this for a physical therapist, It'll be hanging in his workspace.
The paintings combine sign language, braille and the dutch normal alphabet in one.
So all ways of communication come together, I've tried to make them fit together but also be also different as possible.

Some results of all the stress:

We're in a 'design the north sea jazz art poster' competition,
And I decided to paint the whole thing instead of using the computer. So.. that took quite some time. And I'm glad with the results.

Some other thing that caused a lot of stress was the assignment to learn a craft.
I learned to make paper, and for my 'master proof' I make this bed cheet like note, which says that the fresh paper reminds me of fresh bed cheets.

And to thank the person who learned me the skill I had to make a 'homage' for her.
So I created a whole new fresh, clean and white working space totally out of paper. Click on it for the tiny details.

Random

I'm working on this series of six hands, signing a Dutch word. I paint (trying to paint) every hand in a different style. It's gonna hang in a fysio clinic.

Here I was just in the mood to make something,
it turned out a bit beaves & butthead, but I do like it somehow :)

I just love bright and sunny winter days.

Nothing special, I've just been playing around with my camera.
Learning how to do all the settings and stuff.

And again MORE

Yeah, again some more self portraits! Wieeh, the teachers just can't get enough of them.
This one should be 'authentic', cause i made it in the way is usually do.
I don't know yet if I like it or not.

About this one I do know what I think about it, and that is that it's just butt ugly.
We had to make a self portrait from the future you, so I decided that I'm gonna be an addict in 10 years.

But I saved the best for last, cause I just love this one. We had to paint an object in public space on a piece of wood.  So I kinda cheated, and painted a wooden pallet, without actually painting it.. Get it?

Finally some time to add more photo's.

This first picture down here is one of my school projects. It's a "group-photo" but it's build-up from the same person. I've been busy with this theme for quite a while, so I've made loads of these. But I really like this one.

And this is one of the million self portraits we had to make in the last few months. This one came from the assignment 'make a non-authentic self portrait'. For those of you who know; I'd tried to make it Xaviera style.

For painting class we also had to do one, but this time it had to look like it was a digital image.
It works best in real-life from a great distance, and if you don't see it/get it:
It's me with sunglasses on, with me dreads between my face and the glasses.

This project down here needs a bit of explanation. We had design characters for each of the 7 sins. And make 2 in real life. The pink one down here is a siamese twin foot bench (got it?), so when you put your feet on them to relax they'll envy you, cause you have feet and they don't.. hehe.

And this is me, trying to pretend to be my footbench. No photoshop, just hell of a lot of mirror work.

And for a serie of moving selfportraits please click here:

And don't take it to serious..
